ISPS Security Officer
Description: ON JULY 2004 THE “INTERNATIONAL SHIP AND PORT FACILITY SECURITY CODE” CAME INTO FORCE. This code was adopted last December including a new amendment to Chapter XI of SOLAS, which brings into force the International Ship and Port Security Code. The code will apply to vessels over 500 gt from 1st July 2004, including charter yachts. The code formally requires certain actions by ship crew in terms of onboard organization, security plans, risk assessments, physical security equipment and training.
