The shipboard safety officer’s course is directly aimed at satisfying the requirements of the STCW code 1995 for the training of the person holding this important position.
Our course, whilst satisfying STCW requirements, is aimed specifically at the needs of large yachts and, unlike some courses offered elsewhere, will provide practical advice in risk assessment based on examples from our industry.
The course is taught partly in PowerPoint lectures and partly by practical exercises and can be run in our classrooms at Antibes, Palma or Viareggio. Our instructor’s teaching philosophy is to involve students in discussions and exercises to make the material directly relevant to their working lives and avoid it seeming a sterile academic affair.
Blue Water has been awarded the prestigious accreditation of the Nautical Institute of London for this course.
