Fire Fighting (Basic - 3 Day) STCW’95, A-VI/1-2
Description: Certification: STCW'95 Duration: 3.0 days Is this course mandatory? Yes. For Class 2 and Class 1 Deck Officer, Fishing. For Master Of yachts 200 Tonnes (OOW 500 Tonnes) Examination type: Continual assessment Pre-requisites: Students must complete a medical statement or possess a valid medical suitable for the nature of the course. Course content: AIM: At the end of the course the student will be able to demonstrate basic knowledge of fire-fighting and the use of breathing apparatus. OBJECTIVES: At the end of the course the student will have or be able to demonstrate:- A knowledge of the type and correct use of extinguishers. A knowledge of the chemistry and theory of combustion. A knowledge of fire fighting equipment. Action to be taken in the event of a fire. How to work in heat and darkness. A basic knowledge of breathing apparatus. Practical search and rescue.
